Mark Don – BDM at TPI Claims Company Ltd
LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-don-a096961ab/
Who Is Mark Don?
Ever heard of mis-sold energy? Over the last 15 years, there have been billions of pounds that have been paid out in hidden commissions. Even worse, the majority of suppliers have encouraged this behaviour, hiding it from their customers.
This is where Mark Don comes in and his company TPI Claims Company Ltd. We would describe Mark Don as full of integrity, expertise and a passion for doing the right thing.
People may label Mark Don as a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’. That claim has full merit.
Some people feel threatened by the work that Mark does, with a lot of brokers being scared that if the industry is regulated then they won’t make the levels of commissions that they currently do.
Mark Don has been on the broker’s side, but now pursues energy brokers for mis-sold energy contracts.
During his time in the energy industry, he noticed the vast amount of mis-selling that was going on. After speaking with a solicitor, he learned it was illegal to hide commissions and act in the selling companies interests rather than the client’s interests.
After hearing this news, in October 2017 he resigned.
Spending the next 3 years learning all about the legal arguments, as well as the duties that brokers are required to provide for their clients, Mark Don found out the best way for clients to reclaim hidden commissions and make things right.
What Does Mark Don Do?
TPI Claims Company Ltd was created by Mark and his brother Craig Don in September 2020.
From an interview with BDaily News, Mark stated the company was launched after they realised the ‘staggering number of energy brokers that were actively mis-selling policies to their customers.’
With the brothers having extensive experience in the energy industry, more specifically the claims sector, the pair put their skills together to help companies recoup losses, as well as fighting for stronger regulations in the energy industry.
Did you know – More than 50% of all companies and charities in the UK use a broker for their energy and utilities, with research showing that 90% of those companies have been mis-sold to.
Some of the work Mark and his brother have done at TPI Claims Company Ltd has been incredible. More recently, The Guardian released an article showing that UK energy brokers now have to disclose commission fees.
Without the desire and passion Mark Don has, these regulations wouldn’t come into play.
